SCCC plans art exhibit

Newton —A group of regional contemporary artists, The Painting Affiliates, will exhibit their from Oct. 26 through Dec. 1 at the Sussex County Community College Art Gallery. The opening reception for the exhibit, entitled “Contemporary Expressions,” is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26 at the college’s gallery, located in building C on the Newton Campus. The Painting Affiliates is a group of artists from the metropolitan area working independently and exhibiting together, in an effort to build appreciation of contemporary art. The group was founded in 1970 and is associated with the Art Center of Northern New Jersey, having exhibited in a variety of museums, libraries and galleries throughout the area.
