SCCC's Green to go Blue on Thursday

    Newton-Area residents are invited to a concert by acoustic Blues artist K.J. James. The show is part of Sussex County Community College's Thursdays on the Green, summer music and entertainment series. K.J. James, an engaging and dynamic performer, will demonstrate the sophistication of his harmony, dexterity, and genuine sense of humor during his July 8 show, which is scheduled to start at 6:45 p.m. on the College Green. The performance is free and the public is invited to attend. K.J. James is one of the most popular entertainers on the Blues scene today. The bluesman has earned four consecutive Campus Entertainer of the Year nominations, seven Regional Showcase appearances, and national acclaim for his contribution to the internationally recognized "Salt City Blues" project. Before going solo, K.J. fronted a number of nationally known bands, most notably the Dr. Blue Band. He is recognized and respected by such blues greats as John Lee Hooker and John Hammond.
