The Sparta organization is a member of the 10th District of the New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs, which comprises 27 clubs. Seventy-five members attended the event, at which the clubs showcased pianists, singers, writers, a choir, and more. Sparta Woman's Club Arts Performing Chair Patricia Giantonio read an original poem by club member Lenore Moss-Fishman. Other SWC performers were Barbara Rosser, ventriloquist, and Mary Jeanne Farrelly, who recited a spoonerism Cinderella. Donations were collected to benefit the Scleroderma Foundation, one of the club's special projects this year. Scleroderma, which most often affects women, is a chronic, often progressive autoimmune disease, in which the body's immune system attacks its own tissues. The Sparta Woman's Club, a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, is open to all women of Sparta who have an interest in civic-minded and community-centered activities.
