Stanhope House hosts benefit concert and art show

Stanhope - The recently reopened Stanhope House has scheduled two fundraisers for the weekend of Dec. 2. The restaurant will host “Song for the Cause - Remembering Lynn,” a concert and auction to benefit the local chapter of the Susan B. Kohmen Breast Cancer Foundation. The event, which will feature local musician Deb Ferara performing in memory of her sister, Lynn, will take place at 7:30 p.m., Dec.2. Ticket donation of $25 for the non-smoking show includes a CD sampler, program booklet, “Kohmen goody bag,” a pink ribbon, and door prizes. Other performers scheduled to appear are Boxcar Nancy, the Catholic Girls, Dana Parish, Matt Angus, the GripWeeds, and the Shining. In addition to the concert, there will be a celebrity silent auction, featuring items donated and autographed by Norah Jones, Bon Jovi, Bonnie Raitt, Maroon 5, Melissa Etheridge, Gavin Degraw, Hilary Duff, Pink, George Thorogood, and a guitar autographed by U2’s Dave Evans (“The Edge”). On Dec. 4, the restaurant will hold the fourth annual Art Show and Musical Benefit featuring the art of Donato Soranno, Gene Feller, Dennis Pallozzi, Don Miller, and other artists, and the music of The Other White Meat, Jake Stigers, George Kilby, Jr., Bill Wright, and Bill Kelly. Doors open at 2 p.m. and music begins 3:30 p.m. Proceeds from ticket donations at the door and art sale will benefit the Hurricane Relief Fund, the Joan Knechel Cancer Center of Hackettstown Hospital, the Friends of Rich Fritzky Fund, and the Association for Retarded Citizens.
