Stanhope UMC holds Nov. 2 Rummage Sale

The Stanhope United Methodist Church, 2 Route 183, hosts its annual rummage sale on Saturday, Nov. 2. The proceeds from the sale will go towards maintaining the 100 year old church building and charities to be determined later. Doors open 9 a.m. and shoppers can expect household goods, decorations, pictures, toys and clothing, in addition to a variety of baked goods.

The Stanhope United Methodist church has a longtime relationship with the Stanhope, Netcong, Byram, Hopatcong, and Andover townships. The church holds trivia night in the fall, Super Bowl and Mardi Gras Sunday celebrations, English tea, a fashion show and baby shower to benefit Birth Haven in the spring, youth group mission work, Bible studies, Easter celebrations and presentations are open to the public.

Classroom space is available for rental for nursery daycare and pre-school programs.The church’s large fellowship hall and kitchen lends itself to parties, meetings, presentations, post funeral receptions, and club activities.
