Continuing the long-running coffee shop tradition, singer-songwriter Gary Paul Hermus performs at Greene’s Beans Cafe from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2. Hermus, billed as “The Singing Storyteller,” presents story-songs and accompanies himself on the guitar. His composition, “The Man in the Black Chapeau” won the 2006 Xtreme Folk Scene Song Contest. The song is described as an amusing take of a nice guy who doesn’t finish last. Hermus will perform this award-winning song as well as others from his debut album, “Sig’s Gaseteria,” due to be released soon. Greene’s Beans Cafe is located at 31 Theater Center, Sparta.
