For the first time in two years — and for the first time with a high school senior as musical director — the Presby Players will be back on stage at Marsh Hall this Friday and Saturday with their holiday show.

“A Night of Christmas Classics” will be filled with favorite holiday songs, with 17-year-old Braeden Ross performing both as a singer in the cast and as the musical director, playing the piano.

Braeden is a senior at Port Jervis High School. He hopes to study musical composition at Nazareth College next fall and eventually become “a professor of music in college with my own choir.”

Braeden isn’t exactly new to directing musicals, having done so for elementary schools. He’s no stranger to the stage, either.

“My former music director, Beth Deyermond, who directed me when I was Charlie Brown in eighth grade, will sing and play violin,” he said. “I hope everyone comes out to see the show. It’ll be a great time.”
