Vaudeville was hugely popular early in the 20th century. It encompassed different elements of entertainment in one show, including skits, music, magic and even sometimes athletes and famous authors performing readings. The Stanhope House show incorporates many aspects of that old-fashioned fun.
The Amazing Juggles has wowed with his juggling prowess for more than 20 years and is a favorite at parties and festivals. Vince the Magician always has something up his sleeve, whether he’s performing magic or escaping from a locked box. Vince combines comedy with magic for an unforgettable act. Wooden Thomas, named after a famous Vaudevillian of the times, is a comedic songwriter and collector of found things. He is New Jersey’s answer to a question some other part of the world never thought to ask. Athena has been performing belly dance for 25 years and will be joined with a troupe of other dancers.
The Stanhope House, located at 45 Main Street in Stanhope, NJ, offers entertainment several days a week, from comedy to blues to tribute and heavy metal bands. For tickets and additional information about this show or others, visit www.stanhopehousenj.com.
