Theater holding auditions
Sugar Loaf - The Completely Mobile Theatre Company, a local non-profit professional theatre company, is producing a Christmas ecumenical theater production with the help of the Christian churches of Sussex County, N.J., and Orange County, N.Y. Last year’s show involved more than 40 different churches. The production, a full-scale, Broadway-type musical, is called “Two From Galilee” and will be produced at the Lycian Theater in Sugar Loaf, N.Y., and the McNeice Auditorium in Sparta, N.J., during this Christmas season. Invitations to participate in this event were sent to 282 churches in the two counties. The cast for the production will consist of 75 people and will require another 20 people to help with costumes, sets, lighting and sound and other technical positions. Auditions for the production will be in three locations: Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Harmony Baptist Church, 1790 Route 211 East in Middletown. Auditions are scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. Monday Aug. 21, at First Presbyterian Church of Sparta, 32 Main St. in Sparta. Auditions are scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Glenwood Baptist Church, 1863 Route 565 in Glenwood. This audition is from 10 a.m. until noon. People interested in auditioning should be prepared to sing a song that they are familiar with such as any standard musical theater song or a standard Christian praise hymn.
