“Thursdays On The Green” will present Conjunto Imagen

Sussex County — At 6:45 p.m., rain or shine, on Thursday, July 20 “Thursdays on the Green” at Sussex County Community College presents Salsa band, Conjunto Imagen. Please bring your own blanket or chair. Conjunto Imagen was founded in 1989 by band leaders Ernie Acevedo and Junior Rivera. They have since recorded eleven productions. Three of those were produced under the J & N Records label entitled, “Tumba, Tres y Bongo,” “Te Invita a Bailar,” and “Mi Rumba.” The next five productions were recorded under the Platano Records including, “Algo Nuevo,” Por Amor a Ti,” “Encuentro Especial,” “Imagen 97,” and “Entrando a Milenio,” and a Christmas CD, “Xmas with Imagen,” which features Jose Fajardo and Yomo Toro. Their last production, “Contra la Fuerza,” was released by Platano Records and distributed by Universal Records. Conjunto Imagen’s newest production, “Ayer, Hoy y Ma-ana,” is being released under their very own record label, Muziq, Inc. Records, with the vocal talents of Jesus Serrano and Eddie Rosado. Other upcoming “Thursdays on the Green” events are at 6:45 p.m. on July 27 The Dirdy Birdies Jug Band, and at 6 p.m. on Aug. 16 celebrate the college’s 25th anniversary with Trio Globo a contemporary acoustic jazz band. “Thursdays on the Green” is supported by sponsors, including: Lakeland Bank, Sussex Bank, Van den Heuvel & Fountain, Inc., James Alexander, and the Newton Rotary.
