Tomato tasting at Lafayette Village

    LAFAYETTE — Olde Lafayette Village will host a Tomato Tasting Sunday, August 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Families will be able to sample a variety of ripe tomatoes and learn tomato facts and history. Special guests Catalpa Ridge Farm will be sampling everything from a wide range of unusual heirlooms to the Jersey Tomato, which Produce Pete calls “the best around.” There will also be other farm-fresh samples: Cheese, peaches, pickles, baked goods and more. Singing Chef Bill Harris will also be on hand to prepare simple, original specialties featuring the tomatoes. The Tomato Tasting will also feature live country, folk, blues, and rock by Ippy and the Project and special guests.
