'Transit' at Newton Theatre

    The film "Transit" is being shown at the Newton Theatre on Monday, April 1, and Tuesday, April 2.
    In an attempt to flee Nazi-occupied France, Georg assumes the identity of a dead author but soon finds himself stuck in Marseilles, where he falls in love with Maria, a young woman searching for her missing husband.     The historic Newton Theatre was founded in 1924. It is a beautifully restored 605-seat performing arts center in the heart of Sussex County, presenting diverse programming, including world-renowned music acts, comedians, family productions, holiday shows and much more, in an intimate setting.     The Newton Theatre Arts Academy opened in January 2018. The Arts Academy serves students from 5 years of age and older, with acting classes, production workshops, choreography, visual arts and more. The Newton Theatre holds an annual Autism Awareness and Fundraising event, and other events such as clothing drives. The Newton Theatre (Sky PAC), a 501(c)(3) corporation, is dedicated to providing programs that educate, entertain and inspire all audiences regardless of ethnicity, age or income level. Funding has been made available in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through the State/County Partnership Block Grant Program, as administered by the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council.
