Tri-State Actors Theater offers winter acting classes
Sussex Tri-State Actors Theater is offering Winter 2007 Acting Classes for Children and Teens and Advanced Acting Workshops for adults. Classes will run from January until March at the Crescent Theater, Main St., Sussex. The Advanced Acting Workshop is for adults with or without acting experience. Under the direction of Tara Bowles, a professional actor and teacher, scene study and acting classes will be developed through the Stella Adler Technique. Workshops will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., once a week, for 10 weeks beginning Monday, Jan. 8 and ending March 12. The class registration fee is $200. Teen Classes are for students ages 13-17 and will be taught by artistic director and teacher, Paul Meacham. Students will learn basic skills of acting, work on monologues and two-character scenes, with individual instruction for every student. Winter class will begin Wednesday, January 10, with one two-hour session per week. There will be a total of 10 sessions. The final class will be Wednesday, Mar. 14. The class registration fee is $200. Children’s classes, for ages 6-12, will be under the instruction of Lea Antolini Lid, professional actor and children’s acting teacher. Lid choreographed Tri-State’s production of Winnie-the-Pooh last summer. Individual attention will be given to each student. The classes will focus on creative dramatics and games and a Parents Day Presentation. First class will begin Tuesday, Jan. 9, with one 1-1/2 to two-hour session per week starting at 4:30 p.m. each Tuesday. The six-week course will end Tuesday, Feb. 13. The class registration fee is $160. Registrations will be accepted in advance or at the first class meeting. Fees may be paid by check, payable to TAT, by credit card or cash.
