Two foreign films at the Jefferson library
Oak Ridge Two foreign films will be shown at the Jefferson Township Public Library, 1031 Weldon Road, Oak Ridge, on Sunday, March 18. Written and directed by Bohdan Slama, the Czech film “Something Like Happiness” is a “funny, tender and very human drama of passions and lives half-understood and veering out of control, shadowed by tragedy, shot through with hope.” Showtime is 1:15 p.m. The Canadian film “A Simple Curve,” directed by Aubrey Nealon, is “an inventive coming-of-age saga in the aftermath of idealism,” featuring Caleb, as a small town entrepreneur with his again hippie, draft-dodger father Jim as his business partner. It was an official selection of the Toronto International Film Festival and a winner of the Nantucket Film Festival. Show time is 3:15 p.m. This program is free and open to the public. No registration necessary. For more information, call the library at 973-208-6115 or e-mail cobrien@main.morris.org.
