Vernon arts council disbands, endows scholarship at SCCC

Vernon - After making the difficult decision to disband, the board of directors of the Vernon Township Council for the Arts established an endowment scholarship at Sussex County Community College to further the arts in the community and continue the original mission of the council. Although the council will no longer exist, the hard work and enthusiasm of their members over the past several years will be appreciated by a deserving student at the college. The recipient of the council’s arts endowment scholarship must be a resident of Vernon and enrolled in a program at Sussex County Community College that will lead to an Associate of Fine Arts degree in one of the arts, i.e., art, music, theater, or graphic design.
