Wine, cheese and history

The herb garden adjacent to the 1810 House and under the crabapple trees in Lewis Park will be the site of the annual wine and cheese tasting party hosted by the Warwick Historical Society on Sunday, June 3, from 4 to 6 p.m. The event will mark the 50th anniversary of the 1810 Herb Wheel Garden (illustrated here in this sketch). In 1957, Mrs. Charles Reed and Mr. Ralph Shaeffer designed the fragrant garden for the Orange and Dutchess Garden Club and it has been continually maintained by the club. Helen Lee is the present chair of the 1810 Garden Committee.
