Women's Weekend to feature new workshops

    NEWTON - This year’s Women’s Weekend at Sussex County Community College, scheduled for April 1, will feature six new workshops designed to introduce participants to something new to help them live a better life, learn something they’ve always been curious about, and/or have time to relax and enjoy the day. The six new workshops are: • The 3 Legal Documents You Absolutely, Positively Don’t Want to Do Without Presented by Nancy R. Gallo, Esq., SCCC professor, legal studies program coordinator You may not need a trust, an elaborate estate or even a will. But unless you want a stranger making important decisions for you and your family, there are some things you do need. Learn what they are and what would be best for you. • Jazz-A-Belly Presented by Sherri VanHouten of the Champagne Girls, non-profit organization of entertainers This fusion of jazz and belly dance will work every muscle in the body. Be prepared for a fun shape-up. (Dress comfortably) • What Every Woman Should Know About Men Presented by Al Becker, assistant athletic director at SCCC We will explore the differences between sexes and the bridge that works. Also discussed will be the healing chain and the “three-legged stool” of a good relationship. • Faux Without Fear Presented by Jerry Arpaio, owner and freelance artist, Artistic Finishes A hands-on beginners workshop for application of non-traditional paint and paper finishers. • Audition Workshop and Performance Presented by Angela Camack, SCCC assistant professor and librarian Presented by Cornerstone Playhouse of Sparta, the workshop will explain what directors look for, and how they make casting decisions. Learn the best way to present yourself and your talents. The program is presented by actors and directors with extensive community theater experience. • Angels Among Us Presented by Dawn M. Somers, Reiki master, Spiritual Dawn Our “angels” are always with us, ready to listen, ready to help. We just need to ask.
