Ziegler dancers bring home heavy haul of hoofin' hardware

    Vernon - The Ziegler Dance Centre’s Z Dance Troupe competed in the recent “Fire And Ice Talent Competition” in West Milford and came home with numerous awards. Amanda Peslak led the way for the troupe by winning the “Miss Dance of the Competition” title. Courtney Cholminski was third runner up and Kaitlin Rago fourth runner up. Amber Blanchard was fourth runner up for the Teen Miss Dance title. The troupe brought home many overall awards in each age division. In the “minnie” division, the tap trio “Heaven Hop” received second overall, the tap small group “Together Again” first overall, and the tap large group “Happy Feet” first overall. “Together Again” was the minnie overall winner of the competition and also received an entertaining award. In the junior division, ballet soloist Marisa Walker (“Faust Ballet”) was 10th overall, open soloist Adrianna Vicino (“Proud to be American”) was ninth overall, musical theatre soloist Elisabeth Montanaro (“A Day for a Cat”) was sixth overall, and tap soloist Alexsis Hipper (“Fresh Air 8”) was fifth overall. The junior musical theatre duet/trio “What Is This Feeling” was fourth overall, musical theatre duet “Anything You Can Do” third overall, and open duet “Save The Last Dance” second overall. Junior lyrical small group “Believe In Miracles” received second overall, and junior hip hop small group “The Guys” first overall. The junior jazz large group “Think” earned fourth overall, and the junior lyrical large group “Children of Eden” first overall. The junior overall winner of the competition was “Children of Eden,” who also received an award for excellence. The teen division character soloist, Brittany Peila, performed “No Good Deed” and received seventh overall. Leia Campbell, with her musical theatre solo, “If You Got It,” earned second place overall. Teen open duet/trio “Do Something” was second overall. Teen musical theatre large group “America” was third overall. The troupe’s teen musical theatre production, “Beauty and The Beast,” earned a diamond award and first place overall. The senior lyrical soloist Courtney Chlominski performed “Via Dela Rosa” and was eighth overall. The lyrical duet/trio “Last Night of the World” earned fourth overall, and the senior lyrical small group “Women’s Work” was second overall. Other special awards were given to Courtney Chlominski (“Potential”), Kaitlin Rago (“Total Package”), Marisa Walker (“Outstanding Costume”), the trio “Heaven Hop” (“Too Cute”), and the small group “The Guys” (“Most Entertaining”). The judges also presented the “Studio Appreciation Award” to the Z Dance Troupe.
