On January 21st, Durban Avenue students were blasted back to the past for their 80th day of school! All members of the Durban Avenue family wore 1980’s fashion from the rockers to the aerobics instructors and even the glam squad. Students participated as well and school spirit ran rampant throughout the hallways.

To link the 1980s on the 80th day to mathematics, they compared the changes in prices since 1980 to now. Classes viewed a comparison chart of prices of everyday items from a gallon of milk to a gallon of gas. Can you believe that a stamp was only fifteen cents and now it is forty-nine cents? That’s a 327% increase. "That’s totally radical, dude."

This school-wide event engaged students and staff in a celebration of their achievement in completing eighty days of the school year and inspired them to continue rocking out our one hundred remaining days.
