Andover resident spends semester in Washington

    WASHINGTON, D.C. - Scan Groome, of Andover, a student at Gettysburg College, in Pennsylvania, is spending the spring semester of the 2006-2007 academic year studying in Washington, D.C. as a part of American University’s Washington Semester Program in international business and trade. This program immerses students into the Washington, D.C., culture, including the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and more than 200 foreign-owned companies. Students discuss business and trade with decision makers in the corporate world, as well as with government officials from the United States and other nations. They gain hands-on experience with an internship at one of the city’s many corporations, embassies, or government offices.
