Middaughs celebrate 74th wedding anniversary

Charles and Arline Middaugh of Newton are celebrating their 74th anniversary on Nov. 27.

They were married in 1938 at Sacred Heart Church in Dover, and have known one another since they were five years of age. They share the same birthday and are 93 years of age.

In addition to being a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and WW2 veteran, Charles enjoyed a career as a civil engineer for the State of New Jersey until his retirement.

Arline supervised the school cafeteria at East Dover Elementary School. They have two children, Charles and his wife Patricia of Effort, Penn. and Kathleen Shukailo and her husband, Stephen of Dover. Kathleen predeceased her family.

They have three grandchildren, Charles Middaugh, Kimberly Woodhull and Christine Kocienda. They also have three great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Jordan Middaugh of Penn. and Louis Iozzi, the newest addition to the family.
