Area students named to Syracuse dean's list
Syracuse, N.Y. Several local students enrolled in the College of Visual and Performing Arts and The College of Human Services and Health Professions at Syracuse University were named to the Deans List for the fall semester. To qualify for the Deans List, students must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average on a 4.0 scale during the semester. Local scholars recognized by the Dean’s List in the Visual and Performing Arts were Kenneth Hom of Hackettstown, a sophomore majoring in music education; Emily Liessler of Sussex, a senior majoring in art education; Katherine Nerviano of Sparta, a freshman majoring in communication and rhetorical studies; Diane Schaming of Sparta, a senior majoring in music education; and Alison Soccio of Stanhope, a freshman majoring in music education. The College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University contains the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music; the School of Art and Design; the Department of Communication and Rhetorical Studies; the Department of Drama; and the Department of Retail Management and Consumer Studies. In addition, Kaitlin MacDevette was named to the Dean’s List at the College of Human Services and Health Professions at Syracuse University. MacDevette, of Highland Lakes, is a freshman majoring in nutrition. The College of Human Services and Health Professions brings together Syracuse University’s professional programs in Child and Family Studies, Hospitality Management, Marriage and Family Therapy, Nutrition, Social Work and Sport Management in an environment of cross-disciplinary teaching, research, practice and service.
