Brian Tufaro receives little league scholarship

BYRAM — The winner of the 2013 Hobb Engler/Lori Grant scholarship is Brian Tufaro, a recent graduate of Lenape Valley Regional High School. League board executive Sean Samiljan presented the scholarship at the school’s senior award night.

Tufaro played in the league for eight years from tee-ball to the junior level. He was a member of several all-star tournament teams that represented Byram. In the fall, Tufaro will attend Sussex County Community College and then plans to continue his academic studies at a four year undergraduate institution.

This is the sixth year that the award has been presented to players that have demonstrated long-term commitment to the league and service to their school and the community. The scholarship is named after Lori Grant who has dedicated more than 25 years of service to Little League baseball and currently serves as the District 20 President.
