Cahills celebrate 63rd anniversary

WEST MILFORD n Arthur and Shirley Cahill celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversay on April 15. A young WWII soldier, Cpl. Arthur H. Cahill, returned to New Jersey from his duty station at a U.S. Army airfield in Wilmington, N.C. to wed Shirley I. Davidson of Pompton Plains at Pompton Reformed Church, Pompton Plains in 1944. From 1948 through June, 1963 the couple ran the Green Top Luncheonette, which was located across the street from the municipal building, on the present site of the medical center. Arthur Cahill then went to work for the U.S. Postal Service and retired after 20 years there. The Cahills had three children, Arthur H. who passed away in February, 1979; Susan I. who lives in Las Cruces, N.M., and Judson W. of Florida. They also have seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Three years ago they relocated to Las Cruces to be with family. Arthur H.
