Coast Guard Auxiliary installs new officers for Lake Hopatcong

LAKE HOPATCONG — U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 10-07 conducted their annual Change of Watch ceremony at Pavinci’s Restaurant on Saturday, Jan. 21. Newly elected officers were sworn in by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Division 10 Commander Gus Formato and Division Vice Commander Fred Simmons. Lorraine Cannata returns as 10-07’s Flotilla Commander with a new Vice Flotilla Commander, Richard Carlson. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 10-07 serves the area of Lake Hopatcong and other areas of the Lower Hudson area in Division 10. Each year, Flotilla 10-07’s volunteer members spend thousands of hours in support of U.S. Coast Guard missions, including safety patrols on local waterways, search and rescue, boating safety classes, free vessel safety checks for the public, boating safety literature to marine dealers as well as many other activities related to recreational boating.
