County appoints new director of youth services

NEWTON — Sussex County has appointed Melissa Latronica as the Director of the Division of Community and Youth Services. Latronica began her career with the county in 2003 and has obtained extensive work experience through various positions within the Department; Youth Services Coordinator, Human Services Advisory Council Coordinator and Youth Shelter Director. “Ms. Latronica will manage the daily operations of the Division of Community and Youth Services. She has demonstrated a unique combination of leadership experience and practical knowledge needed to provide the planning and community leadership necessary to ensure the highest quality of human services to Sussex County residents,” said Stephen Gruchacz, Administrator for the Sussex County Department of Human Services. Latronica received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in public administration and leadership from Centenary College. “I'm excited to have this opportunity to lead the Division of Community and Youth Services. It's an exceptional team dedicated to improving the lives of the citizens of Sussex County through planning and community collaboration,” said Latronica. “It's this collaborative effort that truly makes our community extraordinary." The Division of Community and Youth Services works to provide a system of care for the specific needs of youth and families in Sussex County. It also advises the Local-Professional Advisory Committee on Alcohol and Drug Abuse and various other programs.
