Glenwood graduate
Glenwood - Matthew O’Dowd of Glenwood was among the 626 students who took part in Coastal Carolina University’s commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 6 at Brooks Stadium on the university campus in Conway, S.C. O’Dowd graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Commencement speaker William W. Wilkins, chief judge of the Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, urged graduates to consider careers in the public sector. “There is so much good that you can accomplish,” said Wilkins, who has served on the federal court for 25 years. “Seize every opportunity to do more good things that will live beyond your years.” Coastal Carolina is a public, comprehensive liberal arts institution offering baccalaureate degrees in 40 major fields of study and 37 undergraduate minors. The University also offers master's degree programs in business administration, education, and coastal marine and wetland studies. More than 7,600 students attend the university.
