Group prepares Memorial Day ceremony to honor Iraq vets

Sussex County - The Northwest New Jersey Peace Fellowship will honor the fallen of the Iraq War on Memorial Day Monday, May 29. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sparta United Methodist Church (71 Sparta Avenue, Sparta, NJ). During the remembrance, members and interested participants will read the name, rank and hometown of the American soldiers who lost their life in this war. Residents arr invited to take part in the reading of names, the Lighting of Candles, and in Song and Prayer session. The Northwest New Jersey Peace Fellowship, an affiliate of New Jersey Peace Action, is a grassroots organization of concerned citizens, primarily residents of Sussex County, committed to a culture of peace, justice and nonviolence.
