Mitchell Fliss graduates cum laude

— Mitchell Fliss, a Sparta resident and the 2013 recipient of the University of New Haven Dean’s Challenge Scholarship, graduated cum laude on Sunday, May 15. Mitchell was chosen as a “Fast Track” student and completed his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Sports Management in 3 years. On April 27 at the University of New Haven, School of Business 2016 Awards Ceremony, he received the Sports Management Experiential Education Award, one of five student presented with awards.
While at the University of New Haven (UNH), Mitchell was inducted into the Greek National Honor Society: Sigma Tau Delta and the English National Honor Society. Mitchell was a member of the UNH Men’s Club ice hockey team serving as captain and treasurer during his senior year. He was a UNH Admission Student Worker responsible for social media, campus tour guide and “Charger Day” liaison. Mitchell is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) serving as the USGA representative, as well as, recruitment and fundraising chair. He completed the SAE John O. Mosely Leadership School in 2014. During his 3-year tenure at UNH, Mitchell served as a facilities intern at Insmed Incorporated where he planned and executed a corporate move of 100 employees. He was a Facilities Operations Student Associate at the Madison Square Garden Company and he was an event logistics coordinator for the New York City Football Club, LLC where he supported pre-game logistics for the inaugural game at Yankee Stadium in 2015. Mitchell is currently working at the New York Red Bulls as a member of their event operations staff.
Mitchell will be returning to the University of New Haven, School of Business to complete his MBA with a concentration in Finance. He was recently awarded a position in UNH’s Experiential Graduate Assistant Program (eGAP) working with the Sports Management faculty.
