Local residents earn degrees

    New Paltz, N.Y. - Two local students were among the graduates at the commencement ceremony held Dec. 17 at the State University of New York at New Paltz. Dorian Flora of Ogdensburg received a bachelor’s degree in music: history/literature. Jonathan Bond of Sussex received a master’s degree in English. SUNY New Paltz is a college of 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students located in the Mid-Hudson Valley between NYC and Albany. New Paltz is ranked fifth among the best public universities and 42nd among public and private universities in the North that offer bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, according to the U.S. News & World Report’s rankings for “America’s Best Colleges 2006.”
