New assistant pastor welcomed at Shepherd of the Hills

SPARTA-The pastors, councils, and members of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Sparta, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Dover, have announced the installation of the Rev. Heather E. Brown as associate pastor of each parish. A special installation service was held Sunday, Sept. 26 at Blessed Kateri Church in Sparta to welcome the new spiritual leader. Pastor Brown is a native of Des Moines, Iowa. She holds degrees from St. Olaf College, Yale Divinity School, and Luther Seminary. Her specialties in ministry include Christian education and ministry with children and youth. She has also served cross-culturally, both as a missionary in Cairo, Egypt and as a staff person at Salam Arabic Lutheran Church in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church are parishes of the Evangelical Lutheran Churches of America.
