Lorraine Adele Bell Card passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and her husband’s art, on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021. She was 77.

Born to George and Evelyn Bell, Lorraine was a life-long resident of Beemerville, N.J. She worked many years for Wantage Township, N.J., holding long-term positions with the Zoning Board, Recreation Committee and as the Chief Financial Officer for the township until her retirement in 2003.

She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, listening to Willie’s Roadhouse, traveling to see covered bridges and tending to her Little Free Library.

She is survived by her life-long soulmate of almost 60 years, Wayne R. Card (who will only be found in paint splattered clothes forevermore), daughters Elaine Petit and husband Frank of Wantage, N.J., Amanda Conkling and husband Jon of Ada, Mich., her son Duane Card and wife, Linda of Warwick, N.Y., and Danish daughter Annette Dam-Fialla of Odense, Denmark. Lorraine is also survived by her cherished grandchildren who gave her endless joy: Dalton and Durango Petit of Reading, Pa., Shaina Card of New York City, Evan Card of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Samantha, Wesley, Cameron, Grayson and Jak Conkling of Ada, Mich. Lorraine’s disdain for cucumbers and the color yellow was only rivaled by her deep love for her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by sister Susan Bartsch, of Wantage, and brother Kenneth Bell, of Frankford, with many loved nieces and nephews including Cassandra Jinks of Wantage who gave immeasurable loving care during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research (lustgarten.org ), 415 Crossways Park Drive, Suite D Woodbury, NY 11797. Arrangements were made by Ferguson Funeral Home website (fergusonfuneralhomesnj.com).
