Richard E. Novotney

Richard E. Novotney passed away on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022 at his residence. He was 93 years old.

Born in Hazleton, Pa. to the late George and Mary (Kusnerick) Novotney, Richard moved to Parsippany, N.J. in his late teenage years and more recently to Sussex County in 2007.

He had worked for Lydo Precision as a machinist in Boonton until his retirement. Mr. Novotney was a faithful member of St. Christopher’s R.C. Church in Parsippany and upon moving to Wantage, became a member of St. Monica’s R.C. Church in Sussex.

He had a love for trains and acquired a sizable train collection. Mr. Novotney was an avid gardener, enjoyed nature and watching the birds in the bird feeders, loved arts and crafts, windmills, and was handy and crafty around the house.

Mr. Novotney is survived by his wife of 66 years, Emily (Sabo); his daughters, Gail Brown of Charlottsville, Virginia and Lydia Conte and her husband James of Wantage; and his three grandchildren, Adam and Justin Brown of Charlottsville, Virginia and Joseph Conte of Wantage.

Private cremation services have been entrusted to the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex, N.J.
