Sandra Ann Heydeck

Sandra Ann Heydeck of Oak Ridge, N.J., passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains, N.J. She was 81.

She was born in Hartford, Conn., to the late William and Leonora (Noack) Reidy.

Sandra graduated from Hartford Secretarial School from the medical secretarial program. She was employed by the West Orange Police Department as a crossing guard from 1978 to 1983. She had been employed as the Banquet Manager at Mayfair Farms in West Orange, N.J., from 1983 to 1991. She then became the secretary for Dr. Trevor Atherley at East Orange General Hospital from 1991 to 2002 and was the recipient of the 1995 Employee of the Year award at the hospital.

She then worked for Newark Beth Israel Hospital before her retirement. She was a Deacon and Sunday school teacher at the First Presbyterian Church in Orange, N.J., and her favorite Pastor she worked with was the Rev. Geoffrey Brown. Sandra was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and member and secretary of the Northern New Jersey International Geneva Association. She had several hobbies, which included theater, music, dancing, tennis, and visiting the beaches in Maine. Sandra was a lifetime New York Giants Football fan.

Besides her parents, Sandra was predeceased by her sister, Zona Leah Reidy.

She is survived by her daughter, Heidi D’Alessio of Oak Ridge; grandson, Matthew Joseph D’Alessio; and canine companion, Cheri. Private cremation services were arranged by Pinkel Funeral Home, Sussex, N.J.
