Virginia Wask
Virginia Ginny I. Wask of Fredon Township, died Monday, April 9, 2012, at home. She was 66. Born in Upper Montclair, she grew up in Verona and lived in Maplewood before moving to Fredon Township in 1996. She was a graduate of Verona High School, then attended Moore College of Art in Philadelphia and was a graduate of Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Montclair. She was a former executive secretary and former legal secretary. A member and former deacon of the Yellow Frame Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Wask was president of the Friends of Fredon Volunteer Fire Company and EMS. She was a Master Gardener and farmer, a member and former president of the Central Sussex Garden Club, co-chair of Keepers of Coursens Corners in Fredon and a former Manna House Board member. Mrs. Wask was named Fredon Township Citizen of the Year in 2007. The daughter of Roy and Louise (Moffatt) Ong, she was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Bud Morgan, in 1996 and a brother, James Ong, in 2010. She is survived by her husband, Bruce M. Wask, whom she married on Sept. 11, 1993; her daughter, Sarah Morgan Geldhof and husband, Dante, of Fredon Township; her stepson, Daniel Wask and wife Donna, of Wantage Township; her stepdaughter, Katherine Bittner and husband Michael, of Bangor, Pa.; 10 grandchildren, Veronica, Kelly, Randi-Marie, Daniel, Jonathan, Andrew, Alexandra, Mark, Luke and Indiana; her brother, Stephen Ong, of Wilson, N.C.; and two golden retrievers, Lance and Molly. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at Yellow Frame Presbyterian Church, One Yellow Frame Road, Fredon Township. Interment will follow at Yellow Frame Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with Firemens Services at 8:30 p.m. at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton.
