Sparta grad honored by Rutgers ROTC program

Sparta - Kara Domareki, a 2002 graduate of Sparta High School, was honored as the Distinguished Graduate from Air Force ROTC Detachment 485 at Rutgers University, having been ranked number one cadet in the program for the past two years. She served as wing commander for her detachment in her senior year and won several national awards during her four years at Rutgers, which she attended on an ROTC scholarship. At field training camp, Domareki was ranked number one cadet, earning her the Distinguished Graduate Award. She was also the winner of the USAA’s Top Gun award. She was recently named the national winner of the prestigious Lt. Col. Virgil I. Grissom Scholarship award. Domareki majored in political science at Rutgers and received a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. She has been assigned as an intelligence officer at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Tex. She is the daughter of George and Darcy Domareki of Sparta.
