Sparta students chosen for Governor's School

SPARTA-Three students from Sparta High School have been chosen as New Jersey Governor's School Scholars for 2005: Katharine Gilson, Daniel Morgan, and Matthew Waselik. Along with their academic peers, these rising high school seniors will cultivate new skills and talents and explore issues of the day by spending four weeks of the summer at Governor's School. Katharine Gilson will be attending the "School of Public Issues and the Future of New Jersey" at Monmouth University from July 10 through Aug. 6 Daniel Morgan will be attending the "School in the Sciences" at Drew University from July 17 through Aug. 13. Matthew Waselik will be attending the "School on the Environment" at Richard Stockton College from July 3 through July 30. Each year, the governor recognizes outstanding high school students who have demonstrated leadership and talent in and out of the classroom. Each student had to pass several highly selective stages of competition at the school, county, and state level to be chosen.
