Nicole Fiorentino, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George P Fiorentino and a graduate of Sparta High School, has made the fall semester dean's list at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Penn. Students must earn a minimum of a 3.5 grade point average on 4.0-scale to attain dean’s list status. Nicole is an environmental science and mathematics major. Nicholas Hoit of Vernon has made the dean’s list at Appalachian State University, Boone, N.C. for the fall semester 2011; Nick is majoring in appropriate technology. He is a 2009 graduate of Vernon High School and the son of Fred and Melissa Hoit. Richard Lloyd (Chad) A. Estrada of Sparta, son of Ricky and Maryjo Estrada, was named to the dean's list for 2011 fall semester at Rutger's University. He is currently taking business, majoring in finance. Katelyn B. Saxton, 21, of Hamburg, a 2008 graduate of Wallkill Valley High School, was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at The College of New Jersey in Ewing, where she is in her third semester as a music education major. She transferred last January to TCNJ to participate in the NJ STARS program II, after successfully completing NJ STARS I at Sussex County Community College, where she earned an associate's degree in liberal arts with a dramatic arts option. In November, Saxton was cast in The College of New Jersey's production of "The Pirates of Penzance," reprising the role of "Ruth," which she had previously played at Sussex County Community College. She is a member of the TCNJ's Women's Jazz Ensemble. Vernon resident Krissy Baldassarre, a senior at Fairleigh Dickinson University's College at Florham in Madison, and Ogdensburg resident Lauren Bell, a junior at Fairleigh Dickinson University's College at Florham in Madison, spent 16 days in Vietnam and Cambodia in January, on a study abroad trip, learning about South Asian culture. Sixteen students and three FDU faculty members traveled to several cities in Vietnam and Cambodia, visiting sites of cultural interest in Hanoi, Ha Long, Quang Tri, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, Cambodia. At FDU, Baldassarre is a senior in FDU's five-year bachelor's/master's education program. She is also a sister of Delta Phi Epsilon sorority and is a Phi Beta Kappa honors recipient. Bell is a junior majoring in business administration. She is also a vice president of the student club, Management Leaders of Tomorrow. Teri A. Daubner of Stillwater recently received a Surgical Processing Technician (SPT) pin from Dover Business College. Daubner, a graduate of the Dover Campus, also has passed the Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) exam. The State of New Jersey requires that surgical processing technicians become certified to work in the field. Patricia L. Postel of Hamburg recently received her Surgical Technologist pin from Dover Business College. She is a graduate of the Surgical Technologist Program at the Dover Campus. Dover Business College program graduates have successfully completed 400 hours of Surgical Processing Clinical Practicum and are eligible to sit for the Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) exam. Denise Nolan of Vernon recently passed the examination of the American Association of Medical Assistants to become a Certified Medical Assistant. She is a graduate of the Certified Medical Assistant Program at the Dover Campus. In the state of New Jersey, Medical Assistants who hold the CMA credential are permitted to administer injections. The following students at Dover made the dean's list at Dover Business College: Mary Duffy of Andover, Laura Herman of Augusta, Patricia Postel of Hamburg, Sondra Dineen, Yvette Iurato, Gary Ostman and Ashley Singleton, all of Hopatcong, Kristi Batche, Kristen Martin, Jonathon Sapunarich, Joanna Sobierajski and Heather Weglinski, all of Lake Hopatcong, Daniel Lovland of Montague, Danielle Struble of Newton, Dennis De Lac of Ogdensburg, Rose Carvalho, Tiffany Hyde-Vloyanetes, Cheryl Rossi and Juliana Villavicencio, all of Sparta, Toni Marie Montemarano of Stanhope, Teri Daubner of Stillwater, Tammy Arcediano and Denise Nolan, both of Vernon. Dover Business College students who achieve a grade point average of 3.8 or better with a minimum of 12 academic credits qualify for the Dean’s List. Students who achieve a grade point average of between 3.5 and 3.79 with a minimum of 12 academic credits qualify for the Honor’s List. The following local students made the Honors List at Dover Business College: Diahanna Betancourt of Franklin, Shannon Anderson of Glenwood, Tammy Smith of Hamburg, Kassandra Santos of Hopatcong, Emilie Zegre of Newton, Justin Kelsey of Ogdensburg, Roberta Attalla, Ellen Rochedieu, both of Sparta, Elizabeth Connolly, Alexandra Cruz, both of Stanhope, Joseph Johnson of Sussex Borough, Mark Gaglioti of Wantage. The following area residents were named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester at Quinnipiac University: Amanda Kell and Brian Wegman of Franklin, Christopher Rago and Rebecca Smith of Hamburg, Ashley Chacon-Baker of Oak Ridge. To be eligible for dean's list status, a student must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C. Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits in a semester, with at least 12 credits that have been graded on a letter grade basis (A through C) to be eligible. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester. Jesse Oberg of Lafayette has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester 2011 at Keene (N.H.) State College. He was one of 1,501 students named to the list. The Dean's List designation is bestowed to those Keene State College undergraduates enrolled in a degree program who have completed a minimum of six credit hours in the semester, receiving no failing or incomplete grades. A 3.5 or higher grade point average on a 4.0 scale is required to earn the dean's list honor. Caitlin Fox of Oak Ridge has been named to the dean's list at Chatham University for the 2011 fall term. Kristina L. Salvador, a resident of Wantage, and a sophomore at Lock Haven, Pa., University studying psychology, has been named to the dean's list for fall 2011. Edan Stanley has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester at Hofstra University. Edan is a freshman majoring in communications with a minor in Russian.
