Youngest Eagle Scout

Sussex-Wantage - Robert (Bobby) DeMaria achieved Eagle rank on Nov. 2, 2005, just before turning 16. He is the youngest Scout in Troop 97 from Sussex-Wantage to achieve the highest rank of Eagle. His Eagle service project was to renovate a courtyard at High Point Regional High School. DeMaria is a honor roll student and will graduate this June. He plans to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. DeMaria played football at High Point and earned varsity letters in ski racing and track The new Eagle Scout is a den leader for Cub Scout Den 4 and has performed more than 200 hours of community service. He has received the Good Citizen Award from The American Legion, and certificates of recognition from the N.J. State Police, Sussex County Sheriff’s Office and the Mayor from Wantage. He has held many leadership positions in the troop.
