Allyson Salmon named Byram schools' Roundtable Award recipient
Byram - The Byram School staff has selected Allyson Salmon to receive the annual Superintendent’s Roundtable Award as outstanding graduate of the eighth-grade class. Salmon is a member of the honors algebra class at Lenape Valley Regional High School. She has been on the honor roll and high honor roll since sixth grade. She has been selected Student of the Month in both seventh and eighth grade and has received the Principal’s Award numerous times. Salmon is involved in many activities in the Byram schools. She is a member of the theater club and has been in every Byram production since the fourth grade. This year she played the part of the Magic Carpet in Byram’s production of Aladdin. Salmon is also a member of the eighth-grade chorus and the Byram concert choir, has been a member of the ski club since sixth grade, and is on the yearbook committee. She is also involved in many out-of-school activities. She plays fall and spring soccer for the Lenape Valley Soccer Club, plays tennis, is a junior lifeguard and plays the piano. She is an active member of the Ledgewood Baptist Youth Group and helps out with many community service projects, such as volunteering at the Dover Soup Kitchen, serving dinners to the seniors and preparing meals for the home-bound residents. Last summer, Salmon volunteered to help teach swim lessons at Panther Valley Lake. She has a part-time job cleaning houses on Saturdays and is a Red Cross certified babysitter.
