November 11 The Andover Township Police arrested Jeffery A. Bash, 33, of Newton for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop. Police observed a vehicle operated erratically on Newton-Sparta Road. The vehicle was stopped in the parking lot of the Newton Quick Check by Patrolman Steve Murrell. The officer observed that as soon as the vehicle stopped, the driver and the passenger, Laura Frey, switched places. Further investigation led to Bash’s arrest. He was charged with D.W.I., driving while suspended, and failure to maintain his lane. He was released pending a December municipal court appearance. The vehicle was impounded for the mandatory 12 hours.
