Andover Police
At approximately 3:31 a.m. on June 21, the Andover Police Dept. received a call from a night watchman at Saint Paul’s Abbey on Route 206, reporting possible intruders at the old retreat house, a vacant building containing approximately 100 rooms. Ptl. David Szatkiewicz and Ptl. Robert Youngs of the Andover police responded, along with members of the Newton and Byram police departments. Four suspects were located in a room on the third floor and arrested for trespassing (a disorderly persons offense). Arrested were Jillane I. Becker, 19, of Flanders; Henry E. Vanblake, II, 19, of Mine Hill; Antonio A. Fedulla, 18, of Wharton, and a 17-year-old juvenile from Mine Hill. They admitted they have been in the building on prior occasions. All were released pending court appearances.
