Anybody want to buy a used armored car?
Augusta - The Military Transport Association celebrated its 35th Anniversary with a Military Vehicle Show/Swap this past weekend at the Sussex County Fair Grounds in Augusta. The MTA of North Jersey is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving historic military vehicles and is an affiliate of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association, a national organization with more than 10,000 members. Motorized military vehicles ranging from jeeps to armored cars were on display. Some were for sale, including a 1943 Dodge WC-45 ambulance for $19,500 and a WWII M8 armored car owned by Sussex local Brian Bancale which was going for $50,000. “I’ve been a collector for 15 years and travel all over the place to these shows so I’m delighted that this show is literally in my own back yard,” said Bancale. Inside, every aspect of military life was represented and memorabilia was for sale including uniforms, radios, books and videos. For more information, visit www.mtaofnj.org.
