NEWTON-The Sussex County YMCA is now accepting registrations for arthritis aquatic exercise, water aerobics and adult swim lessons. "If you are searching for a program that will lessen joint stiffness, increase your stamina, and still be fun, then aquatic exercise is the answer," said Joanne Browne, program director. "Water exercise is especially good for anyone with arthritis or a related condition because it allows you to exercise without putting excess strain on your joints and muscles."  Classes are held at 350 Sparta Ave., Sparta. Arthritis aquatic exercise reduces pain, promotes flexibility and physical fitness in people with various forms of arthritis.  The Sussex County YMCA has been endorsed to provide the Arthritis Exercise Program in cooperation with the North Jersey Regional Arthritis Center.  Starting June 28, this program will meet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 to 9:50 a.m. and on Tuesday and Thursday from 10 to 10:50 a.m.   Water aerobics is a great way to get fit in a buoyant aquatic environment.  Starting June 28, this program will meet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 to 10:50 a.m. and on Monday and Wednesday from 6 to 6:50 p.m. Call the YMCA for class schedule.
