Area attorney has cable TV show

Aims to educate people on variety of legal issues, By Madhuri Mure NEWTON Mark Gruber of Sussex County law firm Gruber and Colabella aims to educate Sussex and Morris county residents about how New Jersey State and local laws work. He’s doing it in a television show called “Law Talk Today,” which is co-hosted by Daniel P. Agatino, Esq. Gruber said the intention is to provide the public with free information, in easy to understand legal terms. The show interviews judges, attorneys, paralegals and other experts from different fields who discuss various aspects of legal issues. Each episode runs in three or four parts, covering details that are often overlooked. “Law Talk Today” explores topics such as representing oneself in small claims court, credit card debt, divorce, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency and real estate laws. One episode, “Real Estate in Down Market,” It featured Dominic Preveti, the Regional Director of Weichert Realtor and Susan Carlson, a real estate lawyer from Sussex county. It provided much-needed info for those buying distressed homes and foreclosed properties. Another recent episode dealt with bankruptcy and credit card debt and featured Attorney Chris Colabella. A four-part episode titled “Custody” encompassed a broad range of child custody guidelines. The expert on this episode was Judge William J. McGovern, the Family Division Judge from Sussex County Superior Court. Parents that are seeking special education from local school boards might benefit from the episode “Special Education and Law,” featuring Rosa Rickett, a lawyer specializing in this area. Carmen Liuzza, Esq., a noted trial attorney from Sussex County shares his expertise on juvenile delinquency laws focusing on the young ones convicted of crime needing extended resources from family, teachers and communities at large. Gruber intends to make these shows available to community colleges, high schools and other civic groups, along with speakers to talk about the various topics. He’s also interested in topic suggestions from viewers. “Law Talk TV” is aired on Cablevision Channel 21 each Wednesday between 7:30 and 8 p.m. and on Service Electric Cable TV at various times during the week.
