Sussex County - Curves of Hamburg, Wantage and Andover will be participating in the Curves Food Drive to benefit local food banks. In 2005, Curves members donated 10.6 million pounds of food for local food banks all over the world. Participating Curves will waive the normal membership fee for new members who donate a bag of non-perishable groceries and join between Feb. 27 and March 11, said Linda Bassett, Curves franchise owner. The offer is based on first-visit enrollment, minimum 12 month c.d. program, and is not valid with any other offer. Thousands of women are expected to take advantage of this opportunity to join a fitness center while contributing to the needs of their community. “Our members are delighted to help our community,” said Bassett. “The food drive is an excellent program that fits perfectly with the Curves philosophy — promoting the health of the whole woman. The opportunity for our members to give back to our community promotes the spirit of giving.” With more than 9,700 locations worldwide and more than four million members, Curves is now the world’s largest fitness center franchise and the fastest growing franchise in history. Donations of nonperishable groceries may be dropped off at any of the three Sussex County Curves locations during business hours. For information, call 973-827-3266, 973-702-3986, or 973-300-3246.
