Athletic Club to host ‘Sweetheart's Social'

Sparta - The Sparta Athletic Club will host a “Sweetheart’s Social” from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13, designed to promote cardiovascular fitness as well as ways to keep the “emotional heart” healthy. The social is open to members and non-members. To promote the event, the club is offering a “Sweetheart Special” of a “Ten Flex Pass,” which enables a member or guest to use any section of the club for 10 visits (with the exception of the tennis courts) for $60. The gift is available for personal use as a series of “trial visits,” or as a special present. The Flex Pass includes the weight, cardio, aerobic, and spin room activities, kickboxing, yoga, Pilates, and aerobics classes. The Sweetheart’s Social will feature a number of items to keep the emotional heart healthy (and safe) the day before Valentines‘s Day. Purchases vary from $10 and up. Affordable Designs, by Debbie Ortega, will feature contemporary sterling silver or gold tone jewelry. Necklaces, rings, hair ornaments and earrings have been specially selected from a Manhattan line and will be available for sale. For the sweet tooth, Marisol Rivera will be on hand with her hand-dipped chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate roses and caramel-dipped Granny Smith apples. Animal lovers can pick up a copy of The Zookeeper’s Daughter by Lori Space Day, who will be on hand to sign copies of her book.
