Boating safety course offered

Lake Hopatcong — The US Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering a boating safety course on Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Hopatcong Senior Center, 32 Lakeside Blvd. in Hopatcong. The course starts at 8:30 a.m. and runs to 4:30 p.m. The cost is $65 and includes lunch. Pre-registration is required. Call 973-398-7869 to register and for further information. The course covers all subjects required for the issuance of the New Jersey Boating Safety Certificate and is taught by Coast Guard certified and N.J. licensed instructors. The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniformed volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard and was created by an act of Congress in 1939.
