Borough students see red against drugs

Stanhope - Last week Stanhope’s Valley Road School participated in Red Ribbon Week, which promotes alcohol-free activities and lifestyles. As part of the celebrations, the students took part in a variety of school spirit days and assemblies. Students wore their favorite sports team jersey, and pajamas to get across the idea that “Drugs Make You Lazy.” The week concluded with two assemblies hosted by the Lenape Valley Alliance Association. The first show was for kindergarten through third grade, entitled “The Musical Health Show” which taught students the fundamentals of anatomy, nutrition, fitness and personal hygiene. Fourth- through eighth-graders participated in the “Attention to Prevention” show, which focused on the dangers of drugs, both legal and illegal.
