Buccieri's collects gifts for moms and kids

Oak Ridge — Buccieri’s Gems and Jewelry is collecting new, unwrapped holiday gifts for Strengthen Our Sisters, a non- profit shelter serving homeless or battered women, and their dependant children. The shelter is located in Northern New Jersey and is dedicated to helping women and children restore balance and harmony to their lives. It provides safe, supportive shelter to the women and children, as well as counseling, child care, children’s workshops, support groups, parenting programs, and employment development programs. Some of the suggested items are construction paper, crayons, coloring books, reading books, diapers, toys for the younger children, and hygiene products such as body wash, perfume, and cologne for the older children. Winter items such as hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves are also welcome, as well as wrapping paper, gift labels, and tape so that the gifts can be wrapped and presented to the children. Anyone wishing to donate to Strengthen Our Sisters is welcome to bring their donations to the store prior to Dec. 18. The store is located at 5669 Berkshire Valley Road in Oak Ridge.
